You may already be familiar with the range of handmade dolls clothes we offer at Little Sparrow, but if you’re interested in something you can make yourself or a specific outfit you must pick up a copy of “Dress up Your Dolls” by Lise Nymark.

Playing dress up is such a fun time for children, and with the fun outfits made from “Dress up Your Dolls” they will have so many options to mix and match clothes to suit every occasion. Bookings are essential! Payment in full must be received to secure your booking. A minimum of four people is required for the class to run, and a full refund will be given if minimum booking is not achieved. You are very welcome to bring any equipment required, use the workshop equipment during the class or purchase anything you will need from the shop. Unfortunately due to the timetable no make-up classes are available.

Waldorf Toy Making

In our most popular class you will have the opportunity to explore toy making in the Waldorf/Steiner tradition. Make small felt animals, create a doll or try your hand at needle felting.

 

Machine Sewing

Wednesday, May 15th – June 5th 1-3pm

Always wanted to use a sewing machine? This class will run you through all the basics, from threading to the tension, which needles to use, how to make a ruffle, to line a tote bag, to add a zip. we will make 4 simple projects along the way too! Sewing machines provided.

 

Knitting & Crochet

Thursday, May 16th – June 6th 1-3pm

In this class we’ll learn to cast on and off, a variety of different stitches, increasing and decreasing, changing yarn etc. Start your lifetime love of either of these cozy and practical crafts. By the end of 4 weeks you’ll be making squares, toys and more!

Jenny Occleshaw started knitting very early in life. She has written patterns for Paton’s, Australian Creative Knitting, and magazines such as Yarn Art and Embellish. Jenny also heads knitting workshops at the CAE and at her studio at home. She enjoys teaching knitting and seeing the joy people find in learning a new skill or mastering new techniques.

Fantastical Hats & Beanies is a delightful collection of unique easy-to-make hats and beanies to suit every outfit and occasion. The collection includes projects suitable for experienced crafters and newcomers alike. Every project is explained using easy-to-follow instructions. Hats and beanies are not only a fabulous way to accessorise and express your own style, the hand-made hats and beanies also make personal and unique gifts for friends and loved ones. With such a variety of techniques and styles, there really is a hand-made hat or beanie here for everyone.
